Frequently asked questions
When is YomiScore coming out?
Soon, on Android, iPhone and iPad. We are currently in testing. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know as soon as you can download it.
Does it work offline?
Yes. YomiScore is built for the stage: your library, annotations, setlists and tools all work without an internet connection. When you're back online, your changes sync to your other devices on their own. Only the Discover catalog, bands and director mode need a connection.
Do I need an account?
No. In guest mode, everything is stored only on your device. With an account (Google, Apple or email) you can sync across devices and use bands, director mode and Discover. If you start as a guest and sign in later, what you already had moves to your account.
I've got a new phone or tablet. How do I get my scores back?
Sign in with the same account on the new device and your library, setlists and annotations download on their own. If you were using guest mode, your scores were only on your previous device.
Which pedals can I use?
Any Bluetooth pedal that works as a keyboard, which covers most page turners. Pair the pedal in your system's Bluetooth settings and open a score: the arrow keys, Page Up and Page Down, the space bar and Enter already turn pages. If your pedal sends other keys, assign them in YomiScore's settings, under Pedal and gestures. You can also turn pages by turning your head: the front camera detects it on the device, without sending images anywhere.
Why do some IMSLP downloads open in my browser?
IMSLP protects some downloads with an anti-bot check (a CAPTCHA) that an app shouldn't bypass. When that happens, YomiScore opens the IMSLP page in your browser: download the PDF there, then open it in or share it with YomiScore to add it to your library. Scores from The Mutopia Project download in a single tap. Before using a work, check its license — the public domain is not the same in every country.
How do bands and director mode work?
Create a band in the Band tab and give your musicians its 8-character invite code. Each member can share setlists and annotation layers with the band, and everyone else can bring them to their own stand. In director mode, the director or an assistant turns the page and the stands of everyone following the session turn at the same time. To shut out anyone holding an old code, generate a new one.
How much can I sync?
Each account currently has 5 GB for PDFs, with files of up to 200 MB; score details, setlists and annotations take up very little space. PDFs of scores you have deleted still count while the account exists, so if you're getting close to the limit, write to us. Sync runs on its own a few seconds after each change and whenever you return to the app, and you can also start it manually from Settings.
Are my rehearsal recordings uploaded to the cloud?
No. YomiScore stores recordings and practice tracks on your device and never uploads them: the only thing that syncs is the markers you place on your tracks. Your device's own backups (Google's on Android, iCloud on iPhone and iPad) may include them, though.
How do I delete my account?
Email us from your account's address; we'll write back so you can confirm the request, and delete the account within 30 days at most. You'll find all the details on Delete your account.
