Terms of Use
By using YomiScore you accept these terms. We have written them to be understood on the first read; if anything is unclear, just ask us.
Last updated:
1. Who provides the service
- Provider: to be published ("we", "us")
- Tax ID (NIF): to be published
- Postal address: to be published
- Contact: [email protected]
These terms go hand in hand with our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.
2. What YomiScore is
YomiScore is an app for reading, annotating and organizing sheet music on Android, iPhone and iPad. It includes:
- a PDF library with import and a scanner, collections and setlists;
- annotation with pencil, lasso, shapes, text, layers and more than 70 music stamps;
- a page editor to reorder, rotate, crop, insert, merge and split pages;
- half-page, continuous and auto-scroll viewing modes, plus jump links;
- page turning with a Bluetooth pedal or a turn of the head;
- the tools in the Metonik × YomiScore cabin: metronome, tuner, recorder and practice tracks;
- bands and orchestras with shared repertoire and director mode;
- Discover, a catalog of public-domain works, and sync across your devices.
3. A work in progress
YomiScore is not available in the app stores yet. Test builds may contain bugs, gain or lose features and, in rare cases, lose data, so always keep a copy of your important PDFs. If you receive a test build, it is for your personal use; please don't redistribute it.
YomiScore currently has no payments or subscriptions. If any feature becomes paid in the future, we will tell you the price and conditions beforehand, and they will only apply if you expressly accept them.
4. Your account
You can use YomiScore without an account, in guest mode, with everything stored on your device. To sync, use bands or browse the Discover catalog, you need an account, which is created when you sign in with Google, with Apple or with your email address.
- You must be at least 14, or the minimum age set by the law of your country if higher. Below that age, you may only use an account with the consent of a parent or guardian.
- Your account is personal. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone is using it without your permission.
- You are responsible for what happens with your account, unless it is due to a failure on our side.
5. Acceptable use
Use YomiScore in good faith. In particular, you must not:
- upload, sync or share scores or other content you don't own or have permission to use. Bear in mind that a public-domain work can still have protected editions, arrangements or scans;
- use YomiScore for illegal purposes or to infringe other people's rights;
- access or try to access other people's accounts, data or bands, or get around usage limits, quotas or security measures;
- overload the service or send automated bulk requests, including to the catalog, or circumvent third-party anti-bot checks such as IMSLP's;
- decompile or tamper with the app or the server, except to the extent the law expressly allows;
- harass or impersonate other people, such as the members of a band.
If you find a vulnerability, please report it to us privately at [email protected]. We'll be grateful.
6. Your content is yours
The scores, annotations, setlists and other content you add to YomiScore remain yours. You only grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, copy, technically process and display it to you and to the bands you choose to share it with, solely to provide the service. That license ends when we permanently delete the content — when you delete your account or ask us to — except for copies your band members have already saved and for backups during the period set out in the privacy policy.
We don't use your content for anything else. You are responsible for having the right to use and share what you upload. If a rights holder gives us well-founded notice that some content infringes their rights or the law, we may remove it or block access to it, and we'll let you know. To report such content, write to [email protected].
7. Discover and the public domain
Discover shows works from IMSLP and The Mutopia Project, which are independent of YomiScore. The license and rights information you see comes from those sources and is for guidance only: whether a work is in the public domain depends on the country (for example, on how many years have passed since the composer's death under each country's law), and a particular edition may carry rights of its own. Before downloading or using a work, check that you may do so where you live and respect its license — for example, by crediting the authors when the license requires it.
We don't guarantee that the catalog is complete, accurate or always available. When an IMSLP download takes you to its website, IMSLP's own terms apply.
8. Bands and director mode
- Anyone with the invite code can join the band until the director or an assistant generates a new one. Only share it with people you want in the band.
- Whatever you share with a band can be seen by all its members, who can download it and save a copy to their library. Stopping sharing does not delete copies that already exist. Only share what you have the right to share with them.
- The director and assistants manage the band: they can rename it, generate a new code, withdraw shared items and remove musicians. Only the director can change roles, hand over the direction, remove assistants or delete the band. If the director leaves, the longest-standing assistant takes over or, if there is none, the longest-standing musician.
- In director mode, the director or an assistant turns the page and the stands of everyone following the session turn with it. By following a session, you agree that whoever is leading controls your stand in this way for as long as it lasts.
9. Tools and Metonik
The metronome, tuner, recorder and practice tracks make up the Metonik × YomiScore cabin, the result of a collaboration with Metonik, our sister app. They are practice aids, and their accuracy also depends on your device's microphone and speaker. If you install Metonik, that app is governed by its own terms.
10. Our intellectual property
The YomiScore app, server, design, brand and logo belong to us or are used with permission. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use YomiScore in line with these terms. The Fraunces, Plus Jakarta Sans and Bravura typefaces are distributed under the SIL Open Font License; you can read their licenses in the app, under Settings › About.
11. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep YomiScore available at all times, but we can't guarantee an uninterrupted or error-free service: there may be maintenance, outages at our providers or connection problems. Because YomiScore works offline, your library stays on your devices even if the server doesn't respond.
We may add, change or remove features. If we decide to shut down the sync service, we will give you reasonable notice so you can keep your data.
12. Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using YomiScore whenever you like and ask us to delete your account by following these steps.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, puts the security of the service at risk or harms other people. We will tell you why, unless the law prevents us from doing so, and you can respond by writing to us.
13. Liability
YomiScore is provided as is, as a product in development. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- indirect damage or loss of profit;
- data loss that isn't our fault, such as loss caused by your device breaking down or going missing;
- anything that happens during a performance because of a dropped connection, a flat battery or a device failure, including in director mode;
- content shared by other people, or third-party services such as IMSLP, The Mutopia Project, Google or Apple.
Nothing above limits our liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence, or the rights you have under consumer protection law. And a word of advice: for a concert, always have a plan B. A paper copy never runs out of battery.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; you'll see it in the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will give you advance notice in the app or by email. If you don't agree, you can stop using YomiScore and delete your account.
15. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts where you live and, if you live in another European Union country, you keep the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of that country. In all other cases, the Spanish courts for the place where the service provider is domiciled will have jurisdiction.
